Petrol Daewoo Cielo: what changes with a remap

Petrol engines are remapped by refining fuelling, ignition timing and, on turbocharged engines, boost control. Done carefully this releases performance the manufacturer left in reserve, giving sharper throttle response and a stronger top end.

Daewoo Cielo 1.8 I 8v against other Cielo engines

Among the 3 petrol Cielo engines we have figures for, the 1.8 I 8v ranks 1st for power gain, 4 bhp above the Cielo petrol average of 18 bhp.

Across our whole catalogue the average petrol remap adds 27 bhp and 51 Nm, so this engine's 22 bhp and 30 Nm sits below that benchmark.
